FruiTrace is a digital platform designed to help small and medium-sized fruit beverage producers improve traceability, reduce waste, and meet strict food safety standards. In a sector where timing and transparency are critical, FruiTrace brings much-needed visibility and control to the entire production process—from raw fruit to the final bottle.

Many producers face outdated, manual workflows that offer limited oversight and no unified system for tracking raw materials, compliance, or production batches. As a result, large quantities of fruit are at risk of spoilage due to delays in processing. This leads to excessive food waste, energy and water consumption from prolonged storage and cleaning cycles, and the risk of missed market opportunities when finished batches linger too long in inventory.

FruiTrace was developed in direct response to these challenges—with the goal of improving operational control while supporting regulatory compliance and resource efficiency.

At the core of FruiTrace is a user-friendly platform that offers full visibility into the production chain. Producers can monitor raw material levels, packaging supplies, finished product inventories, and expiry dates in real time. This enables smarter planning, streamlined inventory management, and faster, better-informed decisions.

The system integrates seamlessly into existing operations and reduces the burden on producers by automating compliance processes—ensuring full alignment with HACCP and food safety requirements.

FruiTrace was piloted with two SMEs—Malner d.o.o. and BioDan d.o.o., both active in the fruit beverage and cider sectors. The platform proved its value in helping users manage production more efficiently and with greater confidence. Feedback from producers was overwhelmingly positive, confirming the platform’s ease of use and strong return on investment.

A key success factor was the close collaboration between PRIOT d.o.o., the technology provider, and the producers. This partnership combined cutting-edge digital expertise with hands-on knowledge of quality control, food safety, and the daily challenges of beverage production.

FruiTrace is more than a platform—it’s a future-proof solution for resilient food production. The project now moves into a phase of active ecosystem engagement, with new partnerships and scaling opportunities encouraged. Continued development will focus on strengthening IFS and HACCP compliance and supporting the sector’s shift toward more digital, data-driven, and sustainable operations.
