Smart Digital Farming

Smart Digital Farming (SDF) is the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) hosted by ILVO. Focused on the agrofood sector, the DIH takes a practical approach to innovation and development projects. By focusing on co-creation, in close collaboration with ILVO’s Living Labs, we are able to thoroughly understand our partners and guide and support them during the innovation trajectory. Typical projects enact around topics, but are not limited to: A.I., data sharing, automation, robotics, smart sensors, IOT.

By being part of ILVO’s ecosystem, SDF can build on the extensive knowledge and expertise from ILVO. Innovative research on precision farming, digitalisation and data sharing is being done, by combining precision technology (sensors, actuators, cameras, machines, robots and drones) with intelligence (smart algorithms) and big data (via connectivity and data sharing). A data sharing platform for the agri-food sector, DjustConnect, is set up.
